How To bring Mid-Century Modern Style To Your Home

Do you love the timeless quality of design style from the mid-thirties to mid-sixties? High-quality furnishings made of teak, walnut, oak and rosewood were used around this time. This style has distinguished features like clean lines with materials such as plywood, glass, metal, plexiglass and has become popularly known as Mid-Century Modern.

This Mid-century modern design style living room calls for a bright and airy feel that can be achieved by bright white walls. My favourite is to go to white Sherwin-Williams Pure White. It's got a bit of want so space does not feel too stark and all the furnishings in the space gets extra attention.

When it comes to light fixtures, they are not only functional but also considered a piece of art. Brightly polished light fixtures supporting oversized lights are the staples of mid-century modern style lighting. Go-to includes hanging globe pendants, spherical ceiling fixtures.

In this living room, Manchester 8 Light features a streamlined design that is unforgettably classic. A sofa with a tuxedo style frame with velvet channel tufting and slim wooden legs is also paired with a couple of the Elle chairs from TOV is upholstered in a supremely fab metallic linen that shimmers from all angles. A timeless abstract rug anchors the furnishings. The Tempo cocktail table adds  glamorous style to any space. Accent tables with a unique enamel top will create interest.

When choosing artwork go for the abstract and asymmetrical patterns. You can introduce geometric forms and patterns on a rug and pillows as well. Thinking of which colours you should go with then your options are really open from neutral to bold. Adding a burst of colour creates an instant interest in a room.
